If you know any black cats, don’t forget to celebrate them on October 27th – it’s National Black Cat Day!
Some facts about black cats:
- While black cats are considered unlucky in the U.S., owning a black cat in Japan is said to bring fortune. If a black cat crosses your path in Germany, it’s a sign of good luck!
- Black cats are not a breed – there are over 20 different cat breeds that can produce all black versions.
- The coat of a black cat can turn brown when exposed to the sun. The sun “rusted” hair remains until it’s shed and new, black hair grows in.
- Black cats are difficult to photograph! We hear it helps to brighten the hue on your camera and angle the cat slightly towards the natural light. (Good luck “angling” your cat and getting them to hold still while you get everything set up, LOL)!
- Black cats make absolutely wonderful pets!
Send in some pics of your black cat – we’d love to see them!!! 🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛
